{ broken glass & bottle full of bad habits } mimi van aislin if you want to play it like a game well, come on, come on, let's play 'cause I'd rather waste my life pretending than have to forget you for one whole minute
» Mimi flipped her phone shut after sending off her last text message, smile on her lips. She dropped her phone onto the desk in her room before collapsing onto her bed and screaming happily into her pillow. After leaving Icarus's last night, she'd been really worried about how things were going to work out. She'd gone there to straighten things out, but somehow she'd just managed to make things quite the more complicated, well, complicated for those few hours. They weren't nearly as bad now, considering he'd just asked her to go out on a date with him, and that was a good sign. Sure, she would've loved for him to take her back already, but she knew a good thing when she saw one. They had to see if they could go back to the way they had been, happy and together. If this date went well, then it said a lot about how things were. Sure, she and Icarus made out and occasionally slept together, but ... it was always different if you were making out with them, knowing you weren't together, and making out with them under the prospect of actually going somewhere with it. She grinned happily into her pillow for a moment more before standing up and taking a breathe, her grin stretching from ear to ear. She barely noticed when her aunt came in, until the older woman asked her what was going on. She looked up at her aunt, still unable to stop grinning, "Icarus and I are going on a date. It's nothing big but ..." She couldn't supress her happiness, especially when her aunt grinned and responded, "Well isn't that nice. I've been wondering how long it was gonna be before you two got back together. Your made for each other you know." She laughed, and left mimi on her own to get ready.
» She closed the door behind her aunt, turning around to walk over to her computer, waiting for the screen to turn on. She scrolled through the songs on her itunes before picking one, hearing the music immediately blast from her speakers. She smiled, wandering over to her closet, pulling all of her golden curls to one side of her neck, twisting them as she thought about what to wear. She'd already taken a shower that morning, so her curls shone brightly in the light of her room, her teeth tugging on her bottom lip in thought. She knew that they were gonna go get sushi, which meant that it would be at one of two resteraunts nearby. Both of them were pretty casual, which meant things were a little more complicated for her to think about. She flung open the door of her closet, pulling out clothes and holding them up to her, tossing those she liked into one pile, and those she denied into another. This went on for several minutes until she collapsed onto the floor, crossing her legs so she was sitting cross legged on the floor, looking at herself in the mirror. She huffed out a breathe, annoyed that she hadn't found anything to wear. The fact of the matter was, over the time she'd dated Icarus, he hadn't ever cared what she was wearing. No matter what she looked like, or what she did, he seemed to feel like the sun shone down on her no matter what. It was actually really cute, but she'd forgotten that in the time that they'd stopped dating. Now she was back to the old worry that he'd think she looked horrible and it would become a pity date. She sighed, chastising herself silently for thinking like that. No, this was good, and everything would be perfect.
» She stood back up again, pulling something out from the corner of her closet, her blue eyes lighting up as she saw it. It was a simple baggy grey sweater, but it was where it'd been worn before that made it so important. She'd worn that sweater on her first date with Icarus, and so it had a lot of meaning to her. She held it in her arms for a moment, smiling at the memory. She didn't have half the outfit she'd worn originally, but she looked around, her eyes widening and her lips pulled back to reveal a grin as she finally figured out what to wear. She jumped around, pulling things from drawers, pulling out a pair of black leggings and tossing them onto her bed where the sweater was already. She looked back in her closet, pulling out the grey and black bag from her first date, throwing it onto her bed followed by her knee high boots from the night before. She tossed her hair into a loose ponytail so it was out of her face as she got ready, before grabbing her clothes and changing into them. She pulled on the leggings first, slipping on a pale white camisole over her black bra, laughing at herself in the mirror. She slipped the sweater on over her head, pulling the strands of hair out from undeneath it and letting them fall to her shoulders. She slipped a pair of socks on her feet, sitting down so she could zip up her boots before wandering into the mess that was her bathroom. She quickly slicked on a little mascara and some eyeliner, trying not to look like she'd put too much thought into it. She was still a little worried about this, but she didn't want to look like she'd been spazzing out the way she had. She needed to appear calm and cool, at least for her own sake.
» She walked back into her bedroom, grabbing the bag and shoving some things into it, her phone and ipod as an afterthought. Her wallet was already tucked in there, and the keys to her prized camaro were in the kitchen. With a sigh, she realized that she'd probably gotten ready in a huge rush, and was going to wait for about an hour and a half. But a glance at the clock told her that she'd been laying on her bed for longer than she thought, and that Icarus should be arriving in fifteen minutes. She grinned, shoving all her clothes back into the closet and wandering into the main part of her aunt's house and into the kitchen where her keys were hanging, with the other keys of the house. She grabbed them, setting her bag down on the tile counter in the kitchen and sat down, breathing slowly to herself, smiling as she did though. In a few short minutes of texting, everything she'd been worried about had disappeared, and now se was going out on a date with the boy she ... well the boy she loved. She didn't even know if he'd recognize the sweater, but if he did, well then she'd be pretty fucking impressed. She let her mind wander for a while until she heard the doorbell ring, causing her to jump to her feet and race to the door. She opened it, smile on her lips as she saw Icarus. Suddenly a shyness took over her, and she looked down a little, blushing for a moment before stepping towards him, her lips caressing his cheek softly. "You look good." She turned to call out over her shoulder, "I'll be back tommorrow. I'm staying at Icarus's tonight." With that, she pulled the door closed, dangling the keys in front of his face, grinning a little. "Wanna drive?"

Whistling was a good way to pass the time though it only really worked if you were good at it. Icaras had always been fairly decsent at whistling. He had just developed a true talent for such a knack when he got his job at Best Buy. Work could be extremely dull some days and well it was good to have something small to entertain himself. Whistling was onthing but it was usually his phone that made him feel better. He enjoyed texting a lot and well his fingers had gained some sort of speed sicne starting texting. At first Icarus had been so annoyed with all the teens he saw texting until he got a hang of it. Now he was pretty much a texting whore. He had lots of friends and it unlimited texting was pretty much the best plan for him or else his phone bill would certainly be insane each and every day.
